WCA Committees

WCA has a number of committees that make decisions, respond to situations and develop programs that provide assistance to the car wash industry. Since we represent a wide variety of businesses related to the car wash industry in twelve different states, we welcome involvement from our members.

Committee members are asked to participate in all conference calls (paid by WCA). Most committees also hold in-person committee meetings in conjunction with the Board meetings. Committee members may attend these meetings at their own expense, although it is not mandatory.

The WCA Committees are:

• Communications - Is responsible for internal and external communications that include website, EXPRESS, e-blasts, PR/news releases, advertising and will provide suggestions and input for Membership recruitment campaigns, Convention & Tradeshow marketing, and all external communications.
• Convention – Is responsible for making decisions about WCA’s Annual Convention & Tradeshow. Education, events, marketing, fees, hours, logistics, etc. This committee meets approximately 4 – 5 times per year via conference call.
• Environmental – Is responsible for promoting and monitoring all environmental messages, news stories and activities. They work on the WCA WaterWise program and the ICA’s Water Savers program. This committee meets approximately 2 times per year via conference call and as needed when stories/opportunities arise.
• Legislative/Legal – Is responsible for monitoring any piece of legislation that has direct impact on car washes, monitoring and working with state regulators, monitoring laws and activities such as employment, wage-hour, unions, registration, etc. This committee meets via phone calls when situations or actions arise.
• Membership – Is responsible for all membership-related activities including car wash tours/roadshows, regional education events, dues, benefit (affinity) programs. This committee meets approximately 4 - 5 times per year and when new programs or special issues arise.

Serving the WCA as a volunteer on the Board of Directors or on one of the Committees is one of the best ways you have to make a difference in the industry and our association.
